Since June this year, Secondary 2 students from a local school has been working on an arts integration project which was to produce a public service announcement (PSA) in a documentary format. Firstly, by researching on their chosen social relevant topics and then thinking of ways to advocate for their concerns, the students transferred their ideas into storyboards in the English Language Critical Thinking (ELCT) classes. They realised their ideas into actual short documentary films with their acquired media creation skillsets learnt in Media Education lessons. English and Media Education teachers took turns to supervise their learning from concepts to storyboards, and to the completion of the video works.

 

This film screening video showcases the best documentary PSAs produced and gives perspectives on what the students and teachers think about the arts integration project, and arts integration as a pedagogy for enhancing learning and engagement.
